PURPOSE

The Appalachian Community Fund (ACF) makes grants on a yearly basis from the General Fund Program which is supported by unrestricted funds. ACF’s General Fund is an annual board-directed program focusing on organizing for social change and is monies organizations may use for general support as well as for programs and projects.

GRANT GUIDELINES AND HOW TO APPLY

Please download and review last year’s General Fund application guidelines below which describes this program’s funding priorities and criteria and gives instructions on how to apply, prepare, and submit your application.

Please take the time to read through the guideline and instructions before writing letter of inquiry and your proposal to make sure you understand what the criteria are, the information that is being requested, and the formatting that is needed.

DEADLINE

The deadline for applications will be announced in late winter or early spring each year. To be added to the RFP list email grants@appalachiancommunityfund.org.

 ACF DOES NOT FUND:

  • Profit-making organizations
  • Electoral lobbying for initiatives or public office
  • Individual efforts
  • Major capital projects
  • Social services organizations unless they demonstrate some analysis and strategies to challenge the systems that lead to the problem

GRANT REPORTING

If you were awarded a grant, you can download a word vesion of the final report form here or a pdf version here.

If the project is not completed, the report is still due, simply report on current activities and financial expenditures. Once the project is completed submit a final report detailing the expenditure of remaining funds.

These reports shall include both financial and program information. They shall include a narrative account of what was accomplished by the grant, including a description of progress made toward achieving the goals of the grant.

All required reports must be submitted before additional grants are given.
